About Dr. Rubley

In the fall of 1977, Todd Rubley attended the largest high school in the state of Iowa, and, as a passing quarterback, led his team, Davenport West, to the AAAA State Title. He was voted the top quarterback in the state and in the winter of 1978, he signed a football scholarship to attend Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. In the summer of 1978, he was the co-MVP of the Iowa Shrine Football All-Star game as his South squad defeated the North.

In the fall of 1978, he was given the opportunity as the starting quarterback on Auburn's Junior Varsity football team against Florida State's Junior Varsity. He was injured in that game and was diagnosed with a bruised sternum, a slightly separated A/C joint (acromial/clavicular), and a pinched nerve/stinger in his neck. He was in pain every second of the day. When he went home to Iowa for Christmas, his mother (who was a nurse) sent him to see a Chiropractor for the neck pain. Prior to the injury, Todd could throw a football 65 yards, but after the injury, he could not throw it 20 yards. The Chiropractor adjusted and manipulated his neck, and within three days the swelling went down and his arm strength returned. This was his first experience with Chiropractic care and sports injuries.

In 1980, a new head football coach arrived in Auburn. His name was Pat Dye and he implemented his new wishbone offense. Todd, like many of his teammates, observed the new coaches having to keep promises made to their recruits, and the previous recruits received limited playing time. He did letter in 1981 and won the Tangerine Bowl Graduate School Scholarship from Red Lobster in 1982. He was also voted President of the Auburn Letterman's Club (selected by his fellow athletes) and made Who's Who in America's Colleges and Universities from Auburn University.

One of the best educational experiences Todd received while playing football at Auburn for five years was watching how Dr. Jack Hughston (team orthopedist from The Hughston Clinic), Dr. Jim Andrews (orthopedist from The Andrews Institute) and university athletic trainers Herb Waldrop and John Larkin rehabilitated injured athletes back to a high level of competition.

Dr. Rubley uses many of their evaluation techniques. He has treated professional, Olympic, college, high school, junior high, and weekend warrior athletes. He was the football team doctor/chiropractor at Oak Hill High School from 2000 to 2005, and he is presently the team football chiropractor/physician for Vinton County High School in Ohio.

Todd Rubley has six brothers. Three others were also Division I quarterbacks. The Rubley boys have played for great football coaches including Chuck Knox, Mike Shanahan, Mike Holgrem, Steve Mariucci, Ernie Zampezie, Ted Tolner, Earle Bruce, Mack Brown, Pat Dye, Alex Gibbs, Galen Hall, Jim Criner, and Dave Rader.
